The morning of April 10,2017, Uwchlan Ambulance Corps had the privilege of participating in a mock crash event at Downingtown East High School. With the prom and graduation seasons upon us, the event serves to educate Juniors and Seniors of the dangers of drinking and driving. Student actors were selected by school administrators to be the simulated “patients” during the event, which included 2 “fatalities.” The students did an excellent job portraying actual victims, and we hope the event made a lasting impact on these students to make responsible decisions.
Lionville Fire Company, Terry Funeral Home, Uwchlan Police, and Jeffstat Aeromedical helocopter service, were also on location assisting during the event.
Thank you to Paoli Hospital and State Farm Insurance for sponsoring this important educational event.
Uwchlan Ambulance Corps participates in several similar events through out the year and find them all to be impactful for all students. Following the mock crash, students are gathered in the auditorium for a guest speaker, a victim of a drinking and driving accident.
