Congratulations to our EMT graduates from the Fall EMT course held at Uwchlan Ambulance Corps! All of our students have successfully passed their class and are ready for state and national testing. All of our students worked so hard to learn proper patient treatment protocols and finish this class successfully. We were joined by students’ friends, family, and fire company to celebrate at graduation.
Pictured above are some of the EMT instructors and helpers congratulating Captain Chambers of Glenmoore Fire Company. Half of the class was comprised of firefighters, most from Glenmoore Fire Company who want to become EMT’s to participate in their stations Quick Response Service (QRS). QRS helps bridge the gap between the time of emergency and the arrival of the ambulance in rural areas, where response times for the ambulance can get to 10-15 minutes. Volunteers with the fire departments respond and assist the patient before the ambulance gets there, initiating treatment sooner for the best patient outcome.
All of the students did a wonderful job this season. Some came from a background of no medical knowledge, yet were able to put together all of the pieces the book gave them into a solid recipe for emergency care. We wish these students the best as they continue down their road into taking their certification tests, and as they continue their paths down emergency care and treatment. Uwchlan Ambulance Corps is so proud of you for your accomplishments!
